How I Plan To Get My Acting Career Started After School

I am quite excited to start my acting career. I am sure I am not alone in our class when I say this. The more we spend time in this school, the more exposed we are to the possibilities awaiting us after we graduate.

And that thought is something that is holding me together as we go through one production after another.

Only a year left before my acting career begins!

The truth is, I only have one year left before I am done with school. That means I should probably come up with a plan, right? Before you know it, I am already done and on my way to start my professional career. It is probably better to start working on it now. That should help me get a job immediately after graduating. The sooner I get a job, the better it will be for my acting career.

Of course, my priority right now is completing my studies. I need to absorb as much as I can from my mentors. The acting experience that I will get will really help me land roles in the future.

How I plan to start my acting career

After thinking about it, I really need to lay down my plan to pursue my career in theatre acting. After much research, here is how I plan on pursuing my acting career after I graduate.

First of all, I need to get myself a good headshot. I have a couple with me right now. As an actress, I need to have them available on a moment’s notice. Casting directors need to get a good look at me. In this industry, the way you look will help you land a role. After all, characters have specific physical qualities that has to be met. It doesn’t matter if you are a great actor or actress. If you do not look the part, you will not land the role.

We were also taught that attitude is another factor that will help us land roles. Connections are very important in this industry and I need to work on this. I need to be on my best behaviour at all times. Not only that, I should also have a positive outlook. There will be a lot of rejections – I need to get used to that so I will not give up. I know that I will be criticised for the way I look, speak, and move. I should be okay with this and should learn not to take it personally.

While landing the lead role is ideal, I know that it is not always the case. I just want to have an acting experience so I will take even extra roles. I need to get myself involved in theatre productions so I can get enough experience. This will involve going to various plays, improv shows, and hanging out in local theatres.

I know that getting an acting career up and running will involve a lot of hard work. I need to be prepared to do my best all time. This is my dream after all. This is my passion. I will do my very best to make sure I reach my dream.
