Dreams About Broadway

I think all theatre actors or actresses have dreams about Broadway. This is one of the best places for anyone to work after going to acting school. Like everyone else, I have the same dream.

My Broadway dreams

I am always thankful that God gave me the talent to become a theatre actress. I am one of those kids who grew up loving the spotlight. There were times when I wished to pursue a different career – like teaching or becoming a nurse. But I always gravitated towards becoming an actress. I have always been active in theatre productions back when I was in school.

This is what led me to study theatre acting. While I think that my chances of building a career in acting are better here in London, I cannot help but fuel my dreams about Broadway. I think at the back of my mind, I have always longed to go to New York so I can pursue a career in Broadway.

From what I have heard, life on Broadway is a lot of fun! It is literally a dream come true! Even if you do not get the lead, it will also feel like being a part of a family. You cannot help but build a relationship with the people you spend hours with. The experiencing rehearsals and the actual production together will really help you bond with each other.

I believe that by going across the ocean to New York will force me to make friends with whoever I will be working with. That thought excites me the most. I get to build new relationships, do what I love to do, and get paid for it!

My favourite shows on Broadway

Although Broadway is on the other side of the world, I have been keeping tabs on the shows currently playing there. I have to if I want to stay ahead in this industry. I am always on the lookout for any auditions or opening in any of the plays.

There are a couple of shows currently playing on Broadway. My three favourites are all there – Phantom of the Opera, Cats, and Wicked. If I was in New York, I would love to watch them again and again.

Of course, there are other plays currently in production. Among the famous ones include Miss Saigon, Aladdin, The Lion King, Chicago, School of Rock, and Anastasia.

Thinking about all of these really fuel my dreams about Broadway. I would love to become a part of any of these plays. I know someday I will be. Right now, I just have to focus on completing my studies and improving my skills. Most of the time, our production numbers are frequented by casting agents. I might end up getting lucky soon. You never really know.
